Jurnal Penelitian Kelapa Sawit maintains a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, validity, and integrity of published research. We are committed to a fair, transparent, and timely evaluation process.

 

Initial Screening (Desk Review)

Submitted manuscripts are first screened by the Editorial Board to ensure they align with the journal's focus and scope, adhere to formatting guidelines, and meet basic ethical standards. At this stage, all manuscripts undergo a mandatory plagiarism screening using iThenticate by Crossref Similarity Check. Manuscripts that fall outside the scope, show high similarity scores (>20%), or do not meet submission guidelines will be returned to the authors for adjustment without undergoing peer review.

 

Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewer selection is based on their knowledge, publication record, and absence of conflicts of interest. Jurnal Penelitian Kelapa Sawit employs a Double-Blind Peer Review system. To maintain strict anonymity, both authors and reviewers are blinded to each other's identities throughout the process.

 

Reviewer Evaluation

Reviewers critically assess the manuscript's originality, scientific significance, methodological rigor, and clarity of presentation. They provide constructive feedback and recommendations to the editors. Reviewers are typically given two to three weeks to complete their evaluation, though this may be extended depending on the complexity of the manuscript.

 

Editorial Decision

The Editor-in-Chief or assigned Handling Editor considers the reviewers' comments and recommendations, along with their own assessment, to make a final decision. Possible decisions include:

- Accept Submission: The manuscript is accepted for publication as it is.

- Revisions Required (Minor): The authors are requested to revise specific parts of the manuscript based on reviewer feedback.

- Resubmit for Review (Major): The manuscript requires substantial revisions. Once revised, it will be subjected to a second round of peer review.

- Decline Submission: The manuscript is fundamentally flawed, lacks originality, or is deemed unsuitable for publication.

 

Revision and Final Acceptance

If revisions are requested, the authors must revise their manuscript and resubmit it along with a detailed "Response to Reviewers" letter within the given timeframe. The editor may consult with the original reviewers to verify that the concerns have been adequately addressed. Once the manuscript fully meets the journal's standards, it is formally accepted for publication.

 

Estimated Turnaround Time

We strive to provide timely decisions for our authors. Our standard turnaround times are as follows:

- Initial Screening (Desk Review): 1 – 2 weeks after submission.

- Peer Review Process: 4 – 8 weeks.

- Revision by Authors: 2 – 4 weeks.

- Final Decision (Accept/Reject): 8 – 12 weeks from initial submission.

- Time to Publication: 12 – 16 weeks from initial submission.
