Peer Review Process
Jurnal Penelitian Kelapa Sawit maintains a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of published research.
1. Initial Screening: Submitted manuscripts are first screened by the editorial team to ensure they align with the journal's focus and scope, adhere to formatting guidelines, and meet ethical standards. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the authors for adjustments or rejected.
2. Peer Review: Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two expert reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Reviewer selection is based on their knowledge, publication record, and absence of conflicts of interest. To maintain anonymity, both authors and reviewers are blinded to each other's identities throughout the process.
3. Reviewer Evaluation: Reviewers assess the manuscript's originality, significance, methodology, and clarity. They provide constructive feedback and recommendations to the authors and editors. The typical review period is two weeks, but it may be extended depending on the complexity of the manuscript.
4. Editorial Decision: The editor considers the reviewers' comments and recommendations, along with their own assessment of the manuscript, to make a final decision. Possible decisions include:
Acceptance: The manuscript is accepted for publication as is or with minor revisions.
- Revisions Required: The authors are requested to revise the manuscript based on the reviewers' feedback.
- Resubmission: The manuscript may be resubmitted after major revisions, essentially treated as a new submission.
- Rejection: The manuscript is not accepted for publication.
5. Revision and Final Acceptance: If revisions are requested, the authors revise their manuscript and resubmit it for further evaluation. The editor may consult with the original reviewers or seek additional reviews if necessary. Once the manuscript meets the journal's standards, it is accepted for publication.
Jurnal Penelitian Kelapa Sawit is committed to a fair, transparent, and timely peer review process to ensure the dissemination of high-quality research in the field of oil palm.
